STOCKHOLM: Speakers at a program arranged by Kashmir Council in Stockholm, Sweden have stressed the need for a peaceful resolution of the long-standing dispute of Kashmir.
They also called for ending human rights abuses in the disputed valley and providing Kashmiri leaders a platform to express their opinions at international fora.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Sweden, Bilal Hayee, expressing his views said that the tragedy of Kashmir started when India occupied the State of Jammu and Kashmir by sending its troops without the consent of the people of Kashmir.
He added according to the United Nations Security Council resolutions the future of Kashmir would be determined by the people of Kashmir through a plebiscite under the UN-supervision.
