MIRPUR: The Kashmiri community in Dallas gathered on Tuesday to honour the memory of Dr. Abdul Ahad Guru, a revered figure in the freedom struggle, on the 31st anniversary of his tragic assassination.
Dr. Guru, a cardiologist by profession, dedicated his life to the cause of liberating Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu Kashmir (IIOJK). Despite facing numerous challenges and threats, he remained resolute in his belief that Kashmir would eventually achieve freedom.
Raja Muzaffar, acting chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, described Dr. Guru’s unwavering conviction as a continuing source of inspiration for those advocating for Kashmir’s liberation. Muzaffar emphasized the significant impact Dr. Guru had on the Kashmiri struggle, urging unity among supporters in the pursuit of justice and freedom.
Moreover, he raised concerns regarding the unresolved circumstances surrounding Dr. Guru’s assassination.
Other speakers echoed Muzaffar’s sentiments, paying homage to Dr. Guru’s enduring legacy and expressing optimism that his indomitable spirit would perpetually motivate the Kashmiri people in their ongoing quest for independence.
