MIRPUR: Kashmiri diaspora in the United States will protest the speech of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the United Nations General Assembly outside the UN headquarters in New York on September 26.
This was announced by Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, on Wednesday. The anti-India demonstration, as mentioned by Barrister Sultan, will see the participation and speeches of representatives from the Kashmiri expatriate community hailing from various parts of the world.
Barrister Sultan explained that the protest’s objective is to expose India’s ulterior motives in the region and draw global attention to the deteriorating political and human rights situation in the Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Mobilizes Kashmiri Diaspora
He asked the Kashmiri diaspora in the United States and other parts of the world to ensure their participation in the protest to expose the Indian brutality in the IIJOK. Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry also revealed that preparations for the demonstration have been finalized.
Furthermore, he stated that he had requested friends in New York to mobilize Indian minorities residing in the US to either join this protest or hold separate demonstrations on the same day.
Meanwhile, Barrister Karamat Hussain, President of the Kashmir Peace Forum International UK, met with President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry at Jammu Kashmir House in the federal metropolis on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry urged the President of Kashmir Peace Forum International to intensify efforts to expose the atrocities inflicted on Kashmiris by the Indian security forces in occupied Kashmir.
He emphasized the need for the international community to play a crucial role in peacefully addressing the longstanding Kashmir issue in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.
