ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Renowned Kashmiri leader Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Ahmad Shah has sadly passed away in Islamabad.
According to reports from Kashmir Media Service, he was the son of Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Yusuf Shah and the uncle of prominent All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
His funeral prayer is set to take place at Jamia Masjid, Sector A, Bahria Enclave, after Zuhr prayers today, with burial to follow at the Bahria Enclave Cemetery in Sector H, Islamabad. Throughout his life, Mirwaiz Ahmad Shah was a strong advocate for a peaceful resolution to the long-standing Kashmir dispute.
The Kashmiri community in Rawalpindi and Islamabad has expressed profound grief over his passing, praying for the deceased’s eternal peace and for strength for his family to endure this significant loss.
