ISLAMABAD: From their confinement in New Delhi’s Tihar jail, illegally detained leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, and Nayeem Ahmad Khan, commend the steadfast resilience of the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in their unwavering political struggle against Indian oppression.
They praise the populace for their political maturity and practical approach, notably in observing the shutdown on February 11 to honor the martyrdom anniversary of liberation leader Muhammad Maqbool Butt, executed in Tihar Jail on February 11, 1984.
The leaders underscore the integral role of Butt and Afzal Guru, unjustly executed, in the spirit of the resistance movement. Condemning the surge in arbitrary arrests across the occupied territory, they urge the United Nations to intervene decisively to halt India’s atrocities in IIOJK, emphasizing the urgent need for a resolution to the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
