SRINAGAR: Kashmiri leaders reaffirmed their dedication to intensifying the struggle for freedom from Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) to get the right to self-determination.
Speaking at a reception ceremony in honor of Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Chairman of the World Forum for Peace and Justice and a Kashmiri leader based in the United States, prominent figures including Dr. Fai himself, Pir Ali Raza Bukhari, Hurriyat Councilor Mahmood Ahmed Sagar, and Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK President Raja Faheem Kayani reiterated that despite India’s actions on August 5, 2019, the disputed status of IIOJK remains unchanged at the international level.
Expressing grave concern over the enforcement of oppressive laws, severe human rights violations, and the arbitrary detention of citizens, journalists, human rights activists, and political leaders in IIOJK, they emphasized the urgent need for the Kashmir issue to be resolved through United Nations Security Council resolutions and in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people for sustainable peace in South Asia.
Highlighting the necessity for a just and sustainable resolution to the Kashmir conflict, they underscored the importance of allowing the Kashmiri people the opportunity to freely exercise their right to self-determination. They concluded by affirming Pakistan’s longstanding efforts in diplomatically advocating for the voices and rights of the Kashmiri people on the global stage.
