SRINAGAR, Occupied Kashmir: Kashmiris worldwide, spanning both sides of the Line of Control (LoC), will come together on November 6th (Monday) to commemorate Jammu Martyrs Day.

This solemn occasion serves as a powerful testament to their unwavering commitment to carry forth the mission initiated by their martyrs, ultimately securing their inherent right to self-determination.

As reported by the Kashmir Media Service, the historical backdrop of this observance harkens back to November 1947 when the forces of Dogra Maharaja Hari Singh, the Indian Army, and Hindu extremists claimed the lives of countless Kashmiris in various regions of Jammu during their migration to Pakistan. Each year, November 6th is dedicated to honouring the memory of the Jammu massacre victims.

This day will be marked by a series of anti-India demonstrations, seminars, and symposiums held not only in Azad Jammu and Kashmir but also in different parts of Pakistan and major cities worldwide, all of which will pay profound tribute to the Jammu martyrs.

Special prayer meetings, organized by various social, political, religious, and community organizations, will be convened to pay heartfelt homage to these courageous Kashmiri martyrs.

The day will commence with special dawn prayers (Fajr) in mosques, beseeching for the swift liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir from the clutches of the Indian government, while also praying for the advancement, prosperity, and stability of both Pakistan and AJK (Azad Jammu and Kashmir).

In the same vein, leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference have expressed their deep reverence for the Jammu martyrs, highlighting that on Jammu Martyrs’ Day, the Kashmiri people will renew their solemn commitment to the ongoing struggle for freedom. They emphasized that Kashmiris have been making profound sacrifices for a noble cause over the past several decades and the day is approaching when they will realize their cherished aspiration. They fervently urged the international community to exert pressure on India to halt its oppressive actions in IIOJK (Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir). —APP
