Kazakh President Holds Operational Meeting of Security Council

ASTANA: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has chaired an operational meeting of the Security Council of Kazakhstan, state media reported citing President Palace on Tuesday.

During the meeting, reports were delivered by Chairman of the National Security Council Yermek Sagimbayev, Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov and Prosecutor General Berik Assylov on the issues of terrorism and extremism and actions to counter the current international situation.

Different aspects of the activity of law enforcement and special bodies on strengthening anti-terrorist protection were also discussed. The Kazakh President gave a number of directions aimed at enhancing measures to ensure the safety of the citizens of the Central Asian country.
