ASTANA: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Thursday held a meeting with the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and discussed prospects for enhanced cooperation.

According to the president’s press service, the participants discussed the cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union.  They also exchanged views on current global issues and regional cooperation among Central Asian nations.

Josep Borrell is also scheduled to visit Kyrgyzstan. The visit shows a significant chance to reaffirm the EU’s dedication to boosting ties with both nations and the entire Central Asian region, even in the face of a difficult geopolitical climate.

Josep Borrell during a press conference after his meeting with Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu said: When I first took office, the EU-Kazakhstan Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement was not yet fully in effect. Now after almost five years, it’s well underway.
