Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan Hold Joint Military Drills

ASTANA: Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic conducted joint military exercises on August 23 involving armed forces units at the Edelweiss training ground in Balykchy town, Kazakh media reported on Thursday.

As per reports citing Kazakh Defense Ministry, the participants conducted joint actions of forces for the rapid deployment and joint combat tasks. The forces were put in war-like situations and terrorist threats to maintain security in the Central Asian region.

Kazakh Defense Minister Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov and Kyrgyz Defense Minister Lieutenant General Baktybek Bekbolotov observed the joint military drills.

The exercises were attended by more than 60 Kazakh service members and flight crews of the army aviation.
