Kazakhstan’s President Attends EAEU Meeting in Russia at Invitation of President Putin

ASTANA: Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Saint Petersburg, responding to an invitation extended by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The visit is in connection with the participation of President Tokayev in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, a platform comprising leaders from Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member countries.

During the meeting, the leaders of the EAEU nations are set to engage in discussions on crucial tasks and key directions for advancing integration processes within the region. The agenda aims to shape the trajectory of further development and cooperation among member states.

President Tokayev’s participation underscores Kazakhstan’s commitment to active involvement in regional economic collaboration and its dedication to fostering closer ties with EAEU partners. The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council serves as a platform for addressing shared challenges, coordinating policies, and exploring opportunities for mutual growth.

In addition to the EAEU meeting, President Tokayev will also participate in an informal gathering of the heads of state from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
