Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Contingents Leave for National Games

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa contingents Peshawar for left for Quetta on Friday to attend the 34th National Games. The 91 players of the KP were seen off by the officials of the KP Olympic Association at Sports Complex in Peshawar.

The Games include Kabaddi (13 players), Volleyball 27 (male and female players), Badminton 12 (male-female players), and Rugby 27 male and female players) left for Quetta, while 8 male and female players and three committee members are going to Lahore.

Instead of Quetta, the cycling event would be held in Lahore at the Velodrome. The second phase starts on May 22 with an opening ceremony. Some of the 34th National Games competitions will also take place in Lahore and Islamabad.

Chef de Mission Ilyas Afridi and Deputy Chef de Mission Miss Sumayyah are also traveling to Quetta with male and female teams. General Secretary of the traveling KP Olympic Association, Zulfiqar Ali Butt, Director Operations Aziz Ullah Khan, Muhammad Amjad Khan, Khalid Waqar, Nasir Mohmand, and other officials, as well as a large number of male and female athletes, were present on the occasion.
