PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has announced plans to launch a low-cost housing scheme for the province’s residents, with preparations finalized on Thursday.
In the initial phase, the project will receive an allocation of Rs 4 billion. Underprivileged individuals will be offered interest-free loans of up to Rs1.5 million to support home construction.
To qualify, applicants must own at least 5 marlas of land. The Housing Department has begun formal work on the scheme, which will allow residents to repay the loans in manageable instalments over a 10-year period.
It is important to note that loans will be provided only to those who own land but lack the financial resources to build a home.
