LONDON. England: King Charles had a heartwarming encounter with New Zealand’s Black Ferns at Buckingham Palace, where he shared hugs and a selfie with the women’s rugby team.

The spontaneous gesture came after winger Ayesha Leti-I’iga asked if it was alright to give hugs, to which King Charles warmly agreed. This delightful moment was shared by the Black Ferns on social media, adding a personal touch to their visit.

The Black Ferns are in the UK to face England’s Red Roses at Twickenham on Saturday. Their visit to Buckingham Palace was part of a special honor for the team. In other royal news, King Charles and Queen Camilla are set to travel to Australia and Samoa from October 18 to 26, 2024.

This trip will include the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Samoa and marks King Charles’s first visit to Australia as Monarch. The visit will highlight the themes of celebrating both countries while reflecting the King and Queen’s work.
