King Charles to Travel Germany and France in First State Visits

LONDON: Britain’s King Charles III will visit Germany and France on his first official visits abroad, the German presidency said on Friday.

In a video message, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that the British monarch would be in Berlin on March 29-31. President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that the fact that King Charles chose Berlin and Paris as his first destinations before his coronation was also a significant European gesture.

He maintained that he and the German first lady would welcome Charles and Queen in Berlin with military honors before inviting the monarch to a state banquet at his Bellevue Palace.

Steinmeier said that this trip early on underscores the close and warm friendship between the two countries and their people. He further said that he wants to tell him and the people of the UK that Germany wants close and friendly relations with London after Brexit as well.

Similarly, the French presidency announced in a separate statement that British Royal will be in Paris from 26-29 March.
