King Salman Celebrates Flag Day

Riyadh: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has marked the country’s Flag Day by highlighting the importance of the national identity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Arab media reported on Saturday.

The King described the countrywide celebration of Flag Day as an affirmation of pride in the national identity and its historic symbolism. In a statement via his Twitter account, the King said that the celebration of Flag Day is an affirmation of their pride and national identity. He tweeted, “The celebration of Flag Day is an affirmation of our pride in our national identity, its historic symbolism that has great connotations and profound implications, which embodies our constants, and a source of pride in our history.”

King Salman said that national Flag Day would be celebrated on March 11 every year. The King noted that the Flag Day coincides with the day March 11, 1937, when King Abdul Aziz, the founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, approved the shape of the country’s flag to approve the great connotations of the flag that refer to the growth, unity, and prosperity.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) marked its 1st Flag Day celebrations as events and activities were also held in connection with Flag Day across the Kingdom. Special events were organized in Riyadh and across Saudi Arabia to celebrate flag day. The Saudi Press Agency reported that at the same time, the green flag of the Kingdom was hoisted on every corner throughout Riyadh.
According to Arab News, the KSA’s flag symbolizes the country’s valuable history; it is a symbol of unification, strength, justice, justice, prosperity, and development. The flag is considered the most significant manifestation of national unity, Arab News added.
