RIYADH, Saudi Arabia:: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman has personally funded the sacrificial animals for 3,322 Hajj pilgrims, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday.
These pilgrims are guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit, hailing from 88 different countries.
During Hajj, most pilgrims are required to slaughter an animal to commemorate the sacrifice that Prophet Ibrahim was willing to make — of his son, Ismail — as an act of complete submission to God.
The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, praised this gesture as an extension of King Salman’s generosity towards all Muslims.
