ISLAMABAD: On the occasion of India’s 76th Army Day, a report released by the Kashmir Media Service has accused the Indian army of engaging in alleged human rights violations and war crimes in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir region.

The report claims that the Indian troops, influenced by the RSS’s Hindutva ideology, are involved in brutalizing Kashmiris and committing grave human rights abuses.

The report argues that the Indian army’s celebration of Army Day lacks justification, considering their alleged involvement in killing, abduction, and arrest of innocent people during cordon and search operations and house raids in the occupied territory. It further alleges that Indian army troops, driven by the Hindutva ideology, are even responsible for shooting innocent civilians dead in various states within India.

Citing a recent incident in Poonch district where three innocent civilians were reportedly killed, the report emphasizes the brutality of the Indian army. It extends its criticism to the northeastern region of India, where the report claims the Indian army has allegedly killed over 4,000 civilians, primarily Dalits, Christians, and Muslims, over the past two decades.

The report contends that staged encounters leading to civilian deaths have become a regular occurrence, exposing what it describes as the real face of the Indian army. It accuses the Indian army of being involved in fake encounters and extrajudicial killings in the occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the report, the Indian army allegedly killed 41 Kashmiris extra-judicially in 2023, while a staggering 96,285 Kashmiris have reportedly fallen victim to Indian army bullets over the last 35 years. The report concludes by calling for the Indian army forces to be held accountable for their alleged heinous acts of brutality.
