PESHAWAR: Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur issued a stern ultimatum to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday, demanding that the province be paid its outstanding funds.

“I am telling Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif the last time to give Khyber Pakhtunkhwa its due money,” Chief Minister Gandapur said while speaking at a press conference. Gandapur said that this was his final warning to the prime minister regarding the matter.

CM Gandapur noted that PM Sharif had sought KP’s support in negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a loan package but insisted that the province must first receive the funds it is owed.

“Firstly, I want the money of the province to be paid to us. If not paid, we will inform the IMF that they are getting money in our name but don’t pay it to us,” Gandapur warned, suggesting that KP might take drastic steps if the federal government fails to comply.

He further threatened political repercussions, stating, “It is my warning to the prime minister that you are forcing us to push your government out of power. I know how to expel you out of power. You could not bear it. No one could prevent us from taking our due rights.”

Addressing the issue of power load shedding, Gandapur held the federal government responsible for ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the province. He warned of severe consequences if the power issues were not resolved, including shutting down the national grid.

“We will shut down the national grid if an uninterrupted power supply is not assured to us,” Gandapur asserted. He urged assembly members to take direct action by visiting grid stations to restore power in areas experiencing up to 12 hours of load shedding. “The assembly members should go to grid stations personally and restore the power supply in the areas where a load shedding of 12 hours being implemented.”
