KP Reports 10 Dengue Cases in 2023

PESHAWAR: During the current year, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported at least ten dengue cases, with the number of cases peaking in March.

According to the Health Department, ten dengue cases have been reported in three districts of the province, including Bannu, Mardan, and Bajaur. Eight of the cases were reported from Mardan, with one each from Bajaur and Bannu.

 Dengue cases and lack of funds

In response to the dengue cases outbreak, health department officials stated that they had requested funds to prevent the dengue virus, but that these funds had not yet been received. The health department is unable to implement a dengue prevention action plan due to a lack of funds.

According to the Health Department, funds for dengue control were reduced last year, resulting in an increase in dengue cases in the province compared to previous years.

The Health Department said that funds for prevention of dengue were reduced last year; in return dengue cases had increased as compared to the previous years in the province.
