KSA Expresses Deep Concern Over Clashes in Tripoli

RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) expressed deep concern over fresh armed clashes between two rival groups in Libya’s capital city Tripoli on Wednesday. As many as 55 people were killed and more than 145 injured during armed clashes in Tripoli.

Violence erupted on Monday night between 444 Brigade and the Special Deterrence Force, two of the countless of militias that have competed for power in the African country since the overthrow of Libya’s ruler Muammar Qaddafi in 2011.

Riyadh called on parties in to exercise restraint and also prioritize the public interest in a way that conserves national gains.

Saudi Arabia also asked all parties to abide by global resolutions aimed at strengthening security and stability in the African country.
