KSA FM to Head Kingdom’s Delegation to IMF-WB 2023 Spring Meetings

RIYADH: Mohammed Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance of Saudi Arabia, will be heading the Kingdom’s Delegation in International Monetary Fund Spring Meetings, the upcoming 2023 World Bank Group, as well as for the second meeting of G20 Central Bank Governors and Finance Ministers.

The Saudi Delegation would also include the Governor of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), Ayman Alsayari, the Assistant Minister of Finance for Macro-Fiscal Policies and International Relations, Abdulmuhsen Alkhalaf,  the Deputy Minister for Macro-Fiscal Policies, Thamer Aljared, the Deputy Minister for International Affairs Dr Ryadh Alkhareif,  the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development Sultan Almarshad, and several specialists from the Ministry of Finance, Saudi Central Bank, the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority.

The Minister would attend the meetings of both the Development Committee (DC) of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) of the IMF. The IMFC will discuss global economic developments and advise the IMF on the direction of its work and the priorities of the coming period.

The DC will talk about the Evolution of the World Bank Group to better address the scope of development issues. The Minister and the Governor will also attend the 2nd G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) Meeting on April 12–13, 2023, which India will host.

Further conversations on the threats to the global economic recovery that have emerged since their February meeting will be encouraged by the gathering. — APP
