KSA Ranks 2nd Among G20 Nations in UN Telecommunication Index

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has secured the second position among Group of Twenty (G20) nations in the United Nations Telecommunication Infrastructure Index (TII), showcasing notable advancements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s digital infrastructure and the efficacy of governmental efforts to bolster e-government, according to the Saudi News Agency (SPA).

The SPA reported that the TII is a composite step assessing the progress of telecommunications infrastructure development internationally and serves as a key element of the E-Government Development Index (EGDI).  It maintained that the EGDI evaluates the overall efficacy of nations’ initiatives, with a focus on robust communication infrastructure vital for the successful execution of e-government steps.

Telecommunications infrastructure also plays a crucial role in fostering economic growth by attracting foreign investments as well as fostering innovation. Furthermore, services in this realm also contribute to improving education and healthcare, enhancing quality of life, advancing social development, and promoting sustainable development within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the SPA reported.
