KSA Welcomes Sudan’s Decision to Open Adre Crossing for Humanitarian Assistance

GENEVA: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has welcomed the decision made by Sudanese Sovereign Council President and Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan to assign the Humanitarian Aid Commission to open the Adre crossing for providing humanitarian aid to the city of Al-Fasher in light of the deteriorating humanitarian situation, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

According to the SPA, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) commended the decision as positive measure in addressing humanitarian needs, facilitating the delivery of help, and ensuring the safety of humanitarian workers.

The SPA further added that the Saudi delegation to the Geneva Conference held talks with the UN secretary-general’s special envoy and the African Union representative to discuss providing emergency assistance through a joint mechanism.
