KSrelief Attends 5th UN Conference on Least Developed Countries

DOHA: A delegation from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), led by the KSrelief Assistant Supervisor General of Planning and Development, Aqeel bin Jamaan Al-Ghamdi, attended the 5th United Nations (UN) Conference on Least Developed Countries, being held in Doha, Qatar, from March 5 to 9.

KS Relief also took part in the first roundtable discussion, titled “Investment in People in the least Developed Countries,” as well as the sixth roundtable discussion, which focused on sustainable development in the aftermath of the pandemic, as well as capacity building and resilience.

 

Sidelines of the UN conference

 

On the sidelines of the conference, the centre hosted an event titled “international partnerships in external assistance,” which was attended by the Saudi Fund for Development and the Saudi Programme for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen. Al-Ghamdi delivered a visual briefing on the Kingdom’s response to the Covid-19 outbreak, as well as its support for international efforts to mitigate the pandemic’s consequences and to countries with vulnerable healthcare systems.

Al-Ghamdi also met with representatives from humanitarian and relief organizations at the conference. — APP
