RIYADH: The Saudi aid agency, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) continued its extensive humanitarian work to support needy nations, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Widebody.
The KSrelief has recently started a volunteer medical project to perform open-heart surgeries and catheterizations for adults in Tarsus, Türkiye. The program running from October 26 to November 2, involves 32 medical volunteers from various specialties.
Since the campaign started, the center’s medical team has successfully completed five open-heart surgeries, two therapeutic catheterizations, and five diagnostic catheterizations.
Meanwhile, the centre concluded a vocational training and business skills development project in Yemen on Wednesday, conducted in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The training project provided 1,500 young men and women across nine Yemeni governorates with vocational and technical skills in areas like food processing, textiles, engine repair, and solar panel installation. Participants also received toolkits to help them start their own businesses.

Deputy Director of Girls’ Education and Training at the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training Intisar Al-Jafri praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts to empower Yemenis through KSrelief.
In Syria, KSrelief has signed a cooperation agreement with a Syrian civil society organization to support orphans and economically empower their families affected by the earthquake in northern Syria.
The project would benefit 600 orphans by providing school supplies, hygiene kits, seasonal clothing, and monthly stipends. It will also offer psychosocial support and vocational training to 150 caregivers in areas such as sewing, livestock farming, and food production.
Furthermore, the project will offer livestock and professional tools to help these families establish sustainable livelihoods.
The SPA reported that Assistant Supervisor General of Operations and Programs Eng. Ahmed Al Baiz at KSrelief has met with the non-resident Ambassador of Slovenia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sao Podlesnik, at centre’s headquarters in Riyadh.
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest related to humanitarian and relief affairs and explored ways to strengthen cooperation in these areas.
The Slovenian Ambassador praised the humanitarian and relief efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, in assisting countries and peoples in need around the world.
