KSrelief Delivers Grant to Iraq to Finance Projects for Removing Mines

BAGHDAD: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has delivered a financial grant to Iraq to carry out projects for surveying and removing cluster munitions and mines in several governates of the country, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.

The grant was given during a meeting between Iraqi Minister of Environment Engineer Nizar Amidi and a team from the KSrelief in Baghdad.

The financial grant provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, would help to remove cluster munitions and mines in different Iraqi governorates.

These projects are focused to achieving a safe and free environment in Iraq and to realize stability and security for Iraqi citizens and improving the livelihoods of the people of the country. Additionally, these projects would support the economy of Iraq.

This support is being given to Iraq on the directives of the wise leadership of Saudi Arabia to contribute to mine clearance in Al-Samawah Desert in Al-Muthanna Governorate and other governorates.
