LAHJ, Yemen: As part of a project to re-enroll girls who drop out of school in Yemen, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) started an empowerment in education activity in the Yemeni governorate of Lahj.

The activity aims to teach and empower families of orphan caretakers in five Yemeni governorates.

With the creation of 14 educational and training courses in a variety of fields, such as embroidery, sewing, the incense and perfume industry, and the food industry, as well as courses in photography and technology, the project aims to train and empower families of orphan caretakers by giving them various life and professional skills, which helps to return their daughters to the educational process.

The project helped 280 trainees in Socotra, Lahj, Abyan, Marib, and Hadhramaut governorates.

This is part of a larger set of educational initiatives that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, via its humanitarian organization, KSrelief, is carrying out to improve Yemen’s educational system and output. —SPA/APP
