HADHRAMAUT: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched the second phase of the project to support orphans and their families in Yemen’s Hadhramaut Governorate, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.
Under the project school bags, educational equipment, living, and health sponsorships were given to the needy in the Mukalla District of Hadhramaut Governorate.
The project is in conjunction with the International Day of Education, which falls on January 24 yearly.
A total of 76 school bags were distributed in Hadhramaut, and cash sponsorships were given to 76 orphan beneficiaries.
Hadhramaut Governorate Undersecretary Hassan Salem Al-Jilani emphasizing the importance of the project for orphans, said that it improves their living and social conditions, encouraging them to continue their education. He also lauded the activities and initiatives of the center in various humanitarian fields in Yemen.
The project aims to help the orphan group in Yemen by economically empowering 440 families by creating sustainable job opportunities to provide income, living, educational, and health sponsorships.
The initiative will enable them to enhance their ability to deal with the economic consequences resulting from the loss of the supporter. Furthermore, it will allow 1,300 orphans to enroll in the education process.
The project comes within the framework of the humanitarian and relief efforts provided by Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Relief Center.
