KSrelief Signs Agreement to Supply Clean Drinking Water in Somalia

RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Assistant Supervisor General of Operations and Programs Eng. Ahmed Al Baiz has signed an agreement with a civil society organization to drill wells and supply clean drinking water in Somalia, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.

Director of the Health and Environmental Aid at KSrelief Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Muallem has said under the agreement 15 water wells would be drilled at a depth of 250 meters.

According to the SPA the agreement also includes the provision of installation of solar energy and power systems, and a 30-horsepower generator in regions including Sahil, Togdheer, Maroodi Jeex and Sanaag.

The project valued at $2,590,000 will benefit some 400,000 individuals.

It is part of the efforts of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm KSrelief, to provide clean drinking water and support water and environmental sanitation projects around the world.
