Kuwait Charity Societies Dispatch Urgent Aid to Gaza

KUWAIT CITY: Charity societies in Kuwait have continued their efforts to address the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza as Israeli aggression left thousands of casualties and displaced a large number of families, Kuwaiti state media reported on Monday.

According to the latest data Israeli occupation forces since October 7, have killed more than 5,000 people and injured over 15,000 in Gaza strip.

Al-Salam Charity Chief, Dhari Al-Beijan, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the organization has always focused its work on central Asia, but due to the ongoing events in Gaza, Al-Salam Charity has redirected its efforts towards the area.

He said that they are in touch with official organizations in Palestine approved by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs to send urgent aid to the people of Gaza.

He said that in the first phase, the charity had allocated $100,000 for food, medical necessities, and provisions for refugee centers.

He noted that over 34,000 people benefited from the aid sent by the charity for the people of Gaza.

Najat Charity’s Abdullah Al-Shehab, has also told KUNA that they are preparing to dispatch new batches of assistance, as they have also launched another campaign for the sponsorship of 1,000 orphans.

Tanmeia Charity official Musab Al-Otaibi said that the Gaza Strip is in urgent need of necessary provisions as the people are suffering from shortages and the collapse of the health system.

Kuwaiti Relief Air Bridge on Monday dispatched its first planeload and vowed to continue to do so on a daily basis this current week.

The loads, consisted of urgent supplies and medical necessities, are heading to the Gaza Strip through the Al-Arish area in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Red Crescent has announced that a second batch of aid convoys, including 15 trucks carrying medical supplies and humanitarian aid, were heading to the Gaza Strip.

The head of the Egyptian Red Crescent in the North Sinai, Dr. Khaled Zayid in a statement said that the Red Crescent gave to its Palestinian counterpart the first aid convoys, which included 20 trucks containing medical supplies, medicines, and food.
