KUWAIT CITY: Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Thursday issued a decree to dissolve the parliament, Kuwait News Agency reported.
According to the news agency the decree was based on the assembly’s violation of the constitutional principles.

The development comes after ministers boycotted a parliamentary session on Wednesday in objection to a speech delivered by one lawmaker.
The national assembly was elected in June 2023 after a proposal by the prime minister that was approved by the cabinet.
The Kuwaiti emir in his inaugural speech, rebuked parliament and the cabinet for failing to fulfil their national obligations, and accused them of harming the interests of the state and its people.
