KAZAN: President Sadyr Japarov on Wednesday opened Kyrgyzstan’s Consulate General in Kazan city of southwest Russia, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry said that opening ceremony took place during the working visit of President Sadyr Japarov to the Republic Tatarstan on February 20-21.
The consular jurisdiction of the Consulate General covers the territories of the Republic of Tatarstan, Republic of Bashkortostan, Republic of Mari El, Republic of Mordovia, Udmurt Republic, Chuvash Republic, and Ulyanovsk Oblast. Kyrgyz citizens residing in these areas can access various consular services provided by the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic through the Consulate General.
The ceremony was attended by Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeenbek Kulubaev, Department Head of Foreign Policy Murat Azymbaev, and Consul General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Kazan Erlis Baishebaev.
Deputy Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan Yuri Kamaltynov, Chairman of the State Council Committee of Tatarstan Kamil Sadriev, Radik Vakhitov representing the Russian Foreign Ministry in Kazan, Airat Khasanov heading the sector for ensuring secrecy and civil defense of the Apparatus of the State Council of Tatarstan, Deputy Chairman of the Union of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tatarstan Marat Akhmatov, along with representatives of the diplomatic corps and Kyrgyz compatriots residing in Kazan were also present on this occasion.
