ISLAMABAD: Kyrgyzstan Ambassador to Pakistan Totuiaev Ulanbek on Friday expressed his country’s commitment to fostering stronger ties with Pakistan and enhancing business collaborations for mutual prosperity.
Highlighting the friendly relations between the two nations, Ambassador Ulanbek emphasized the need to further develop sustainable business relations, citing numerous sectors with potential for cooperation.
He proposed a business delegation from Pakistan to visit Kyrgyzstan to explore opportunities for joint ventures and partnerships, stressing the importance of expanding trade beyond current products.
The Ambassador mentioned Kyrgyzstan’s imports of pharmaceuticals and sports goods from Pakistan while exporting dry fruits and agricultural products to Pakistan, underscoring the untapped potential for increased bilateral trade.
Assuring cooperation with the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) in promoting business linkages, Ambassador Ulanbek expressed his embassy’s readiness to facilitate such initiatives.
Addressing the gathering, Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry, highlighted the wide-ranging areas for cooperation between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan, including agriculture, industry, energy, and tourism.
He emphasized the strategic geographical location of both countries, which presents opportunities for increased collaboration and regional trade promotion.
President Bakhtawari emphasized the potential for Pakistan to provide Kyrgyzstan with access to markets in the Middle East and South Asia, while Kyrgyzstan could facilitate Pakistan’s access to the Central Asian States.
He urged both nations to diversify their trade portfolios to achieve more significant results and announced ICCI’s consideration of organizing a business delegation to Kyrgyzstan.
Faad Waheed, Senior Vice President of ICCI, called for the sharing of expertise between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan to mutually benefit each other. He emphasized the importance of exploring untapped areas of cooperation to strengthen bilateral business relations.
