Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan Ink Agreement on Prisoners Transfer

BISHKEK: Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have signed an agreement on the transfer of prisoners. The document was signed by Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan M. Asanaliev and Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan N. Yuldashev in Tashkent.

An agreement on the transfer of convicted persons for further serving their sentences between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan was reached as part of the state visit of President Sadyr Japarov to Uzbekistan.

The agreement is aimed to create and strengthen cooperation in the transfer of convicted persons between the two nation, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported on Friday.

Meanwhile President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced a unified stance with the head of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, on expanding cooperation and elevating relations to the level of alliance.

Earlier, the press service of the president of Uzbekistan said Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan had planned to enhance bilateral trade to 2 billion U.S. dollars.
