ISLAMABAD: Deputy Chairman Senate Mirza Mohammad Afridi on Tuesday adjourned the session till Friday due to the lack of quorum.

The bell rang for five minutes at the order of the Deputy Chairman. After a count, it was determined that the house was not in order; thus, the session was adjourned until Friday.

Saadia Abbassi of the Pakistan Muslim League earlier requested the withdrawal of the Senate’s resolution.

In a point of order, she criticized the resolution, deeming it contrary to the principles of the constitution and democracy. Abbassi emphasized that the Supreme Court’s decision on military courts aligned with Pakistan’s best interests.

Furthermore, the senator urged the caretaker government to enhance law and order in Balochistan. She also called for diplomatic efforts to address the repatriation challenges of Afghan nationals.
