Lahore ATC Rejects Interim Bail Pleas of Farrukh Habib, Asad Umar

LAHORE: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore on Tuesday rejected the interim bail pleas of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Farrukh Habib and Asad Umar in a case pertaining to vandalism at the Federal Judicial Complex (FJC) during ex-premier Imran Khan’s appearance in the Toshakhana case on March 18.

The court extended the interim bail of PTI stalwarts Yasmin Rashid, Mian Aslam Iqbal, and Zubair Khan Niazi, who appeared before the ATC today, until April 7.

ATC directs PTI leaders to join probe

During the hearing, the court asked the police about the investigation status. To which the police replied that the accused had not joined the probe process. The court directed PTI leaders to join the investigation process.

The court also quashed a request filed by Asad Umar’s counsel to exempt the PTI leader from appearing before the court.

The Shadman police had booked the PTI leaders over alleged vandalism, arson, and committing violence.
