Lahore Breathes Easier as Schools Reopen After Days of Lockdown Today

LAHORE: Lahore is experiencing a considerable improvement in air quality today following the implementation of days of smart lockdown with Air Quality Index standing at 277.

The educational institutions in Lahore, like many other districts of the province, reopened today after a smart lockdown imposed to check air pollution in the city. Despite the improvement in AQI due to the lockdown, Lahore continues to grapple with air pollution.

However, Monday morning’s Air Quality Index stood at 277, earning the city second position in most polluted cities. It is to mention here that Upper Mall Canal Road usually records a concerning air pollution rate of over 400.

Shimla Pahari and its surroundings registered an air pollution index of 413, while Mall Road stood at 408. Johar Town logs air pollution index at 403.

Schools and colleges are opening today after a long weekend break.
