Layered Pan Pasta Recipe

ISLAMABAD: Introducing Layered Pan Pasta: a one-pot, no-mess recipe perfect for pasta lovers. This dish features saucy and cheesy layers topped with Chicken Tempura for the ultimate treat.

Ingredients:

For the White Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)

For the Red Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)

For the Sautéed Veggies:

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 1 cup chopped green capsicum
  • 1 cup chopped red capsicum
  • 1 cup chopped carrot
  • 1 cup sweet corn
  • 1 cup broccoli
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil and butter in a pan. Add all-purpose flour and cook on low flame until fragrant. Then add milk, cooking until the mixture starts to thicken. Add black pepper and salt, cooking until it reaches a thick consistency. Set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add garlic, cooking for a minute. Add onion and cook until translucent. Add tomato puree, cooking for 2-3 minutes. Stir in ketchup and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Next add oregano, chili flakes, and salt, cooking until the sauce reaches the desired consistency. Set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add garlic, cooking for a minute. Add green capsicum, red capsicum, carrot, sweet corn, and broccoli, sautéing for 2-3 minutes. Add soy sauce, hot sauce, salt, dried thyme, and black pepper, mixing well and cooking for 1-2 minutes. Set aside.
  4. In a pan, heat oil and layer 2 cups of boiled pasta, white sauce, sautéed veggies, red sauce, and cheese.
  5. Repeat with remaining boiled pasta, white sauce, sautéed veggies, red sauce, white sauce, and cheese. Cover and cook on medium-low flame for 6-7 minutes until the cheese melts.
  6. Fry Chicken Tempura according to package instructions. Set aside.
  7. Remove the lid, add the prepared Chicken Tempura, black olives, and basil leaves.
  8. The Layered Pan Pasta with Chicken Tempura is now ready to serve.
