ISLAMABAD: Legal proceedings against banned TTP chief Noor Wali Mehsud and terrorist Ahmed Hussain alias Ghat Haji have advanced to a decisive stage following a recently surfaced phone call in which terrorist Mehsud orders Ghat Haji to target public properties and schools.
An FIR has been filed at the Police Station CTD District North Waziristan under multiple sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act, including 324, 427-3/4EXP-7ATA-148,149, against Mehsud and Ghat Haji. Additionally, another FIR has been registered at the CTD Dera Ismail Khan Police Station under sections 302, 324, 353, 427, 342-3/4ESA-1, 7ATA-436, 120B, and 109 F of the Pakistan Penal Code for attacks on a rural health center in Dera Ismail Khan.
The leaked phone call, which emerged recently, showed Mehsud and Ghat Haji instructing attacks on Pakistani government properties, leading to several targeted assaults, including on a rural health center, a girls’ school, and the killing of a primary school teacher in Tank.
In response law enforcement agencies conducted a forensic analysis of the phone call, which confirmed its authenticity. The government has vowed severe action against the terrorists, ensuring they (terrorists) will not escape from the law. The government pledged that the terrorists will not be allowed to target innocent people under the pretext of So-called Shariah. “No person will be permitted to hide behind the guise of so-called Sharia and commit heinous actions and spill innocent blood.”
The crackdown underscores the commitment to counterterrorism and protect innocent lives from extremist threats.
