LAHORE: Pakistan’s Legendary actor and comedian Abid Kashmiri passed away on Friday after a brief illness in Lahore at the age of 74.
He is survived by two sons and two daughters. Abid Kashmiri was born in Lahore on May 4, 1950. He acted in hundreds of TV dramas, stage and films.
He used to rule the hearts of the fans because of his spontaneous comic acting. Despite being settled in the US for quite some years he made appearances on several TV talk shows.
Some of his memorable TV dramas include “Samundar,” “Suraj ke Sath Sath,” “Teesra Kinara,” “Apnay Log,” and “Lohari Gate.” He was awarded Nigar Award for Best Comedy Actor for film ‘Bazar-e-Husn’ in 1988.
Punjab Governor Sardar Salim Haider Khan expressed deep grief and sorrow over his sad demise.
