LAHORE: The 18th death anniversary of the famous actor of Pakistan Muhammad Ali is being observed today, local media reported on Tuesday. The ‘Emperor of Emotions’, has won ten Nigar awards in his film career starting from 1964. The actor has been awarded with the Pride of Performance Award by Pakistan’s President in 1984 which is the third highest civilian award in the Asian country and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, the second highest civilian award in Pakistan.
Mohammad Ali was born on November 10, 1938, commenced his professional journey at Radio Pakistan. His cinematic debut was in the film “Charagh Jalta Raha” (1962), followed by another notable work, “Shararat” (1964). He delivered a memorable performance in “Aag Ka Darya.”
Over his career, spanning more than 300 movies, he collaborated with renowned actors and actresses of the era, including Zeba and Shamim Ara, across various genres including Punjabi films.
Renowned for his versatility, he adeptly portrayed both negative as well as main character roles. Mohammad Ali passed away on March 19, 2006, due to a heart attack in Lahore.
