GILGIT: The 78th Liberation Day of Gilgit-Baltistan is being celebrated with zeal today. Flag hoisting ceremonies are being held in all districts including Gilgit and Skardu. The main ceremony has been held at Chinar Bagh Gilgit where Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Gul Bar Khan hoisted the national flag.
According to Radio Pakistan, a colourful ceremony is also underway in Gilgit under the auspices of Pakistan Army to mark the day. Rich tribute is being paid to the martyrs and ghazis of the liberation struggle of the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
The unique culture and civilization of GB is also being highlighted in the ceremonies. Gilgit-Baltistan government has also announced a public holiday today.
