Lionel Messi Donates 3.5M Euros to Quake-hit Turkey and Syria

ISLAMABAD/BUENOS AIRES: Argentinan football player Lionel Messi has donated 3.5 million euros of humanitarian aid for Turkiye and Syria after a catastrophic earthquake killed more than 16,000 people in both countries.

According to the Turkish media, the Argentine forward, who steered his country to win the FIFA World Cup 2022, asked his foundation to help the earthquake countries.

According to the Turkish media, soccer star Lionel Messi immediately distributed humanitarian aid of 3.5 million euros.

Lionel Messi asked his foundation, the “Leo Messi Foundation”, to send aid to the earthquake victims. “Leo Messi Foundation”, a family foundation, mostly cares for the health and education of the world’s children.

Leo’s older brother, Matias Messi, runs the agency’s activities in partnership with UNICEF.
