ISLAMABAD: The much-anticipated ‘Lok Mela’ festival will take place from November 8 to 17 at Islamabad’s National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage.
Organized in partnership with provincial culture departments, this annual event offers visitors an immersive journey into Pakistan’s diverse cultural landscape.
This year, Lok Mela celebrates the Golden Jubilee of Lok Virsa, marking 50 years of preserving and promoting traditional heritage. The festival will feature regional cultural pavilions, an artisan craft bazaar, international exhibits, youth cultural displays, and captivating folk performances, including music, dance, and puppetry.
Master artisans, folk musicians, and dancers from across Pakistan will showcase their skills, fostering national unity and cultural pride. The event also supports traditional craftsmanship, providing artisans a national platform to exhibit their work. Attendees can enjoy traditional cuisine, explore NGO displays, and participate in the festival’s wide array of folk entertainment, creating a vibrant celebration of Pakistan’s cultural richness.
