DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the dates for the ICC World Test Championship final in 2025, set to take place at Lord’s.

The one-off Test match will be held from June 11 to June 15, 2025, with June 16 designated as a reserve day if needed. This will be the first time Lord’s hosts the World Test Championship final as previous editions finals were held at Southampton in 2021 and The Oval in 2023, with New Zealand and Australia emerging as champions respectively.

The final will feature the top two teams on the standings at the end of the current cycle. Currently, India, led by Rohit Sharma, is leading the table, followed closely by the reigning champions, Australia. However, with plenty of points still up for grabs, teams such as New Zealand (third), England (fourth), Sri Lanka (fifth), South Africa (sixth), and Bangladesh (seventh) remain in contention for a spot in the final.

Fans interested in attending the World Test Championship final can register for ticket information. ICC CEO Geoff Allardice anticipates a high demand for tickets.

“The ICC World Test Championship Final has quickly become one of the most eagerly awaited events in the cricket calendar,” Allardice said. “It highlights the enduring allure of Test cricket, which continues to engage fans worldwide. I encourage fans to register their interest now to increase their chances of attending this prestigious event.”
