Mahmoud Abbas Seeks International Intervention to Support Palestinians in Gaza

RAMALLAH: The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has urged the the international community to immediately step forward and force the Israeli occupation authorities to uphold its legal responsibility, and to provide emergency assistance to the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip who are subject to blockade and bombardment, Arab media reported on Sunday.

Abbas held the Israeli occupation government responsible for stopping the essential supplies from Palestinian people in Gaza, such as water, electricity, and food items. He urged the Palestinian government and relevant authorities to act immediately and provide the available potential to assistance to Palestinians.

Palestinian people exposed to an all-out aggression

He said Palestinian people are being exposed to an all-out aggression, assault and murders committed by the Israeli occupation forces triggering the essential provision of everything that would ease their suffering.

Abbas said that international relief organizations must play their role to mitigate the trauma of Palestinians.

He pointed out that Gaza won’t stand alone in confronting this aggression like other Palestinian territories.

Meanwhile, the death toll in Gaza has risen to 313 as Israeli airstrikes continue to devastate the region, with close to 2,000 people wounded, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

Israel has struck 426 targets in Gaza, resulting in the flattening of residential buildings in massive explosions, leaving a significant portion of the territory in ruins.
