ISLAMABAD: In the next 12 hours, the prevailing weather conditions across the country will predominantly be characterized by scorching heat and high humidity.
However, a respite from the sweltering conditions is expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, where rain-thundershower activity is forecasted.
As the morning commenced, the temperature readings in key cities stood as follows:
- Islamabad: 24 degrees Celsius
- Lahore: 27 degrees Celsius
- Karachi: 30 degrees Celsius
- Peshawar: 26 degrees Celsius
- Quetta: 23 degrees Celsius
- Gilgit: 18 degrees Celsius
- Murree: 16 degrees Celsius
- Muzaffarabad: 21 degrees Celsius
According to weather forecast provided by the Met Office for Indian Illegally-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a partly cloudy outlook is predicted for Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, and Shopian. These regions also have chances of rain accompanied by gusty winds and thundershowers. Conversely, Jammu is anticipated to experience hot and dry weather conditions, while Anantnag and Baramulla are likely to witness partly cloudy yet dry weather.
The temperature for the morning in these regions were as follows:
- Srinagar, Pulwama, and Baramula: 17 degrees Celsius
- Anantnag and Shopian: 16 degrees Celsius
- Jammu: 25 degrees Celsius
- Leh: 8 degrees Celsius
