Majority of Pakistanis Perceive 2024 Elections as Transparent: Survey

ISLAMABAD: A report by IPSOS, a renowned market research and consulting firm, sheds light on the transparency and integrity of the 2024 general elections in Pakistan.

Conducting a comprehensive survey involving over three thousand persons across all four provinces between the 11th and 19th of February, IPSOS gathered insights regarding the transparency and potential rigging during the electoral process.

According to the findings, a significant majority of Pakistanis hold a positive perception of the fairness and transparency of the elections. Specifically, three out of every five respondents expressed confidence in the transparency of the electoral proceedings.

The survey indicates that 58 percent of the population believes that the General Election 2024 process was conducted in a transparent and fair manner.

Furthermore, the report highlights regional variations in public opinion, with residents of Punjab, Baluchistan, and Sindh expressing confidence in the fairness of the Election Day process.

In Punjab, 63 percent of respondents perceived the elections as transparent, followed by 62 percent in Sindh and 55 percent in Balochistan. Similarly, 61 percent of respondents in Islamabad shared the sentiment of transparency, while 33 percent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa held the same view.

These survey results provide valuable insights into public perceptions regarding the integrity of the electoral process and serve as a testament to the efforts aimed at ensuring transparency and fairness in Pakistan’s democratic system.
