KARACHI: First Kuala Lumpur-Karachi flight of Malaysia’s Batik Air landed in Pakistan on Sunday. Upon landing at the Karachi International Airport, the flight was given a traditional water salute.
Batik Air of Malaysia will operate three flights in a week from Kuala Lumpur to Karachi. Malaysian Consul General and Civil Aviation Officers welcomed the passengers on board.
The new route strengthens the Airline’s ties between the nations, fostering both business and leisure travel opportunities between Pakistan and Malaysia. On November 1, the national Airline of Azerbaijan launched direct flight operations to Pakistan.
Azerbaijan’s national Airline – AZAL – started direct flights to Pakistan, while an inaugural flight from Azerbaijan will reach Islamabad airport tonight.
Batik Air’s Flights Operations in Pakistan
In August, Pakistan’s government approved three weekly frequencies of Batik Air to/from Karachi.
The company has been successfully operating daily flights between Lahore and Kuala Lumpur since 2016 and is now looking to expand its network to other cities in Pakistan.
Batik Air is a Malaysian-based Airline that operates from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport.

It has a vast network covering Asia, South East Asia, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Australia, and China, rapidly expanding its ever-growing network.
The carrier currently operates a fleet of Boeing 737 and ATR aircraft for domestic and international flights. KW Group represents Batik Air as its exclusive passenger and cargo GSA in Pakistan.
